The main measurement principle involves transmitting radar pulses from the radar’s water‑level sensing antenna; the antenna then receives the pulses reflected off the water surface and records the time delay T. Since the speed of electromagnetic wave propagation C is constant, the distance D to the water surface can be calculated. A radar water level gauge is an electronic device that employs electromagnetic waves to detect targets. It emits electromagnetic waves toward a target and receives the returning echoes, thereby obtaining information such as the distance from the water level to the wave‑emitting point, the range (radial velocity), the azimuth angle, and the rate of change in altitude.
