1. Different measurement principles: Radar Doppler flowmeters measure surface velocity by transmitting electromagnetic waves toward the water surface and receiving their reflections. 2. Different measurement methods: The radar Doppler flowmeter is a non-contact measurement device. Its sensor does not come into contact with the water surface but is separated from it by air. 5. Maintenance requirements differ: radar Doppler flowmeters do not come into contact with the fluid being measured, resulting in minimal maintenance after installation and commissioning. Ultrasonic Doppler flowmeters, on the other hand, are in direct contact with the water. If floating objects or debris accumulate on the sensor’s transmitting surface, manual cleaning is required.
