In recent years, road flooding caused by heavy rainfall has occurred frequently, seriously compromising public safety and mobility. To address this issue, municipal authorities have installed flood‑monitoring systems at selected overpasses throughout the city, enabling real-time tracking of water levels beneath these structures. They promptly coordinate drainage operations and issue timely warnings through radio, television, and other media, providing travelers with up-to-date guidance to help avoid hazardous areas where vehicles and pedestrians could be caught in deep water.
Description of the Road Waterlogging Monitoring System:
1. Install a remote telemetry terminal, an ultrasonic water level sensor, and a camera on one side of the underbridge passage. The remote telemetry terminal collects ultrasonic data to monitor road surface water levels and captures camera images for on-site visual monitoring.

2. Install an input level sensor in the drainage well, and have the remote monitoring and control terminal collect data from the sensor to enable water-level monitoring of the drainage well.
3. The remote monitoring and control terminal for road waterlogging is connected to the on-site drainage pump control cabinet and the distribution cabinet, enabling automatic (or remote/local) start/stop control of the drainage pump based on the water level in the drainage well, while also monitoring the pump’s operating status and the three-phase voltage at the site.
4. The remote monitoring and control terminal transmits on-site data to the municipal management department’s monitoring center via the 4G network.
5. When the water level exceeds the threshold, the road‑flood monitoring equipment malfunctions, or there is a power supply anomaly, the remote telemetry terminal automatically triggers an alarm and transmits the alert to the monitoring center.
6. Management personnel at the road‑flood monitoring and control center can use computer‑based monitoring software or a mobile app to view on‑site data and images in real time, as well as remotely start or stop drainage pumps.
